In 1971, the hotel bought Ray Bhadur Mohan Singh and his current owners of the Mena House Oberoi Hotel. In 1972, the Oberoi International Hotel of India took over the management of the hotel and renovated it more than once.Now it is held under the management of Marriott since 2015,
In December 1977, the Mena House Conference was held between former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat US President Jimmy Carter, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and representatives of the United Nations before the Camp David peace agreement between Egypt and Israel.
Mena House has 486 rooms and suites (7 small suites and 4 master suites each with a private balcony overlooking the pyramids). The hotel consists of four floors with marble staircases and an Islamic architecture with a number of chandeliers. The hotel has 96 rooms in the main building and 390 rooms in the annexes. All the rooms are decorated with hand-made Persian carpets, decorated with old murals, old wood windows and all the rooms are preserved.
